POLICIES
1. The Gun-in-the-Mouth Advisory Board™ will convene at scheduled times throughout any given calendar year when enough films have been proposed for official inclusion into the Gun-in-the-Mouth Film Collection™. Official voting sessions for the Gun-in-the-Mouth Film Collection are to be conducted at the Horn O’ Plenty Multicultural Centre™ (formerly known as the “Horn O’ Plenty Fellowship House & Sanitarium™”) and The Devil’s Playground™.
2. All members of the Gun-in-the-Mouth Advisory Board must be present during any voting session; the absence of an Advisory Board member(s) automatically invalidates any voting session and any subsequent votes. The excessive consumption of snacks, Alpo-like foodstuffs, or any other substance that radically impairs an Advisory Board member’s visual and auditory condition beyond acceptable scientific, philosophical, metaphysical, and poetic boundaries also invalidates any voting session and any subsequent votes.
3. Only members of the Gun-in-the-Mouth Advisory Board may cast an official vote to include a film in the Gun-in-the-Mouth Film Collection. Friends of the Gun-in-the-Mouth Film Society™ can only propose films for official inclusion; they may not officially vote for a film to be included in the Gun-in-the-Mouth Film Collection. The only exception is Mel Forsyth, who is considered a permanent Advisory Board Member-At-Large.
PROCESS
1. A Gun in the Mouth Film Society Advisory Board member or a Friend of the Gun in the Mouth Film Society proposes a film for inclusion into the Gun in the Mouth Film Collection.
2. The Gun in the Mouth Advisory Board registers the proposed film on the Society’s docket. Films in the docket stage are listed as pending judgement.
3. The Gun in the Mouth Advisory Board views the film and makes an official judgement based on the official criteria for gun-in-the-mouth films. Films in the judgment stage are listed as in judgment.
4. If The Gun in the Mouth Advisory Board determines a film is gun-in-the-mouth, the film is officially entered into The Gun in the Mouth Film Collection. The film is listed as approved and judgment complete. If a film is not deemed gun-in-the-mouth, the film is listed as rejected and judgment complete.
CRITERIA
The following criteria should be considered when deciding if a proposed film should be officially included in the Gun-in-the-Mouth Film Collection: a) the degree of absurd meaninglessness that the subject(s) of the film exists in b) the degree of probability that the subject(s) will never improve his or her utterly depressing human condition c) the degree to which the viewer(s) is forced into a brutal mental and emotional state of prolonged existential melancholy that precludes the placing of a gun into one’s mouth and the pulling of said gun’s trigger.
