[The Essays and Critiques section will include essays about such diverse gun-in-the-mouth topics as common gun-in-the-mouth characteristics among official gun-in-the-mouth films, gun-in-the-mouth sub-genres (extreme poverty, severe physical trauma, relentless drug addiction, nuclear war, etc.), current gun-in-the-mouth trends, directors who are especially gun-in-the-mouth (Larry Clark, Harmony Korine, Lars Von Trier, Michael Haneke), films and film characteristics that appear to qualify as gun in the mouth but actually don’t qualify, etc. The Essays and Critiques section will also contain individual critiques of films in the Gun in the Mouth Film Collection that expand on why a particular film in the collection is considered gun-in-the-mouth.]

Most films by Mike Leigh can be introduced onto the docket. “Mean Time”, originally for British TV, is a requirement for this collection.
